How I Emotionally Declutter

Hi friends! Welcome back. I’ve spent the past couple of days just trying to relax and enjoy this weekend. Something I was thinking about, especially today, was all the emotional clutter I have and how I can get rid of it. I feel like I’m holding on to so much internally and it holds me back and makes me feel really overwhelmed. So I thought today I would share how I’m emotionally decluttering in case you have any decluttering you need or want to do for yourself.

Set priorities.

One of the worst things I do to myself is tell myself I have to do something every moment of everyday. It leads to me not actually being productive because I’m too overwhelmed and also causes me to hold in too much internally. I force myself to remember all the things I need to get done instead of just focusing on a few important things. So making sure I start each day by prioritizing what I want to get done is a huge help.


I recently got back into journaling everyday and it’s been a huge help in helping me get my thoughts out and focus on myself for a few minutes. I typically do it in the morning and it really helps me set my focus and mood for the day. Everyday I have a new question or prompt to think about and write about and it’s great for me to look inside and really consider what I think about it.

Talk it out.

Sometimes talking about my emotions and sharing what I’m feeling helps me emotionally declutter. It forces me to stop holding it in and let it out. It’s not always the most comfortable thing since I don’t love talking about myself, but I have learned how important it is to talk about my emotions and share them with someone so I can hopefully process them.

And that’s it! There are probably a ton more ways to emotionally declutter but these are the ones I am starting with. They’ve been a lot of help so far. Thank you so much for stopping by!
